Shared Terrain: An Evening of Elevated Dance Cinema at the 2026 Aerial Dance Festival
in collaboration with Frequent Flyers Productions®, as part of the 2026 Aerial Dance Festival

In our first ever screening partnership with Frequent Flyers Productions®, we are excited to share a selection of three short films that intersect circus, dance and the environment. Following the performance will be a brief talkback/Q&A with Isaac Endo, who was involved in the making of all three films. This is one of the main events of the Aerial Dance Festival, which also features the course "Screendance for Dancers and Aerial Dancers" August 3-7, 2026. Check out all this unique festival has to offer!

"Hubris" is an experimental docu-narrative that chronicles three individual journeys interpreted by dance and circus artists, exploring a powerful storyline about climate change. Blinded by ego, their journeys symbolize the collateral damage induced by a culture deeply rooted in individualism—serving as a metaphor for our environmental crisis and a need for a U-turn towards transformative change.

Branché, 2023, Canada, 16 min

Through unique, female-driven circus and movement art, Branché traverses time and lush natural landscapes of Quebec in a poetic exploration of our potential to work in harmony with nature in the face of the rising conflicts and chaos of the climate crisis. As diminishing resources and livable land drive an existential collapse, the daring three-high formations and breathtaking falls remind us that a oneness of nature and humanity is undoubtedly worth preserving.
